Products, offers, reviews, and sellers

Amazon Data API

Search Amazon by keyword, then pass the ASIN from a result to read the product page, its seller offers, and its reviews. The API reads public Amazon pages in 24 marketplaces and returns JSON. It does not place orders or manage a seller account.

Capabilities

What you can do with the Amazon API

Most projects start with a keyword search, keep the ASINs from the results, and open only the products they need. Every endpoint takes a country code that picks the marketplace, the currency, and the default language.

Keyword search

Product search returns one page of results, each with the ASIN, title, price, star rating, rating count, photo, and badges. You can filter by price, category, condition, Prime eligibility, or rating, and change the sort order. Autocomplete returns the suggestions Amazon's search box would show. See examples

Product details

Pass an ASIN or a product URL to get the title, prices, photos, feature bullets, description, availability, the product details table, and the variations. Reviews come from a separate call, so a catalog page does not have to load them. See examples

Reviews

The reviews endpoint returns the average rating, the total review count, the star distribution, Amazon's summary of what customers say, and the top reviews with reviewer, date, verified-purchase flag, and text. It covers the reviews shown on the product page and has no pagination. See examples

Seller offers

Offers lists the sellers selling an ASIN, with price, condition, ships-from, seller name and ID, seller rating, and delivery price and date. If you only track one kind of offer, filter to new or a used grade, or to Prime or free delivery. See examples

Best sellers and new releases

Pass a category path from a ranking URL, such as beauty or beauty/11056591, to get Amazon's Best Sellers or Hot New Releases list for that category. Each row has the rank, ASIN, title, price, star rating, and rating count. See examples

Seller profiles

A seller ID from an offer opens that seller's public profile: name, storefront link, business name and address, positive-feedback percentage, and ratings for the last 30 days, 90 days, 12 months, and lifetime. A second endpoint lists the products the seller carries. See examples

Shortened examples

Sample responses

Each sample is one object from a response body, with most fields removed so the shape is easy to read. Live responses also carry a meta object, and the products and prices shown here are examples.

How a call usually goes

Create an API key, call product search with a keyword and a country code, and keep the ASINs you care about. Then request details, offers, or reviews for each ASIN as you need them. For a price check across several products, the price endpoint takes up to 5 ASINs in one request.

Documentation

The Amazon docs list every parameter for search, product, offer, review, deal, ranking, and seller endpoints. That includes the 24 marketplace codes, the search filters and sort options, the offer condition filters, and the category paths the ranking endpoints accept.

Code samples

Every endpoint in the documentation includes a sample request in Shell, JavaScript, PHP, and Python.

Why SteadyAPI

Built around the ASIN

Amazon identifies each product by a 10-character ASIN, and this API uses the same id. Search hands it to you, and the product endpoints take it.

One id across calls

Details, offers, reviews, variations, and similar products all take the ASIN from a search result. Store it once, then call whichever endpoint the screen needs.

Price checks in bulk

The price endpoint returns the title, current price, list price, availability, and rating for up to 5 ASINs per request. The batch endpoint does the same with full product details.

Variants by child ASIN

The variations endpoint lists a product's options, such as color and size, and every child ASIN with its value for each. That is how you find the exact variant a shopper picked.

Marketplace by parameter

Send country to switch marketplace. US is the default, and the United Kingdom is UK, not GB.

Pricing

One plan covers every API

Your plan's monthly requests work on this API and every other SteadyAPI API. Plan details, overage rates, and the Free plan's daily cap are on the pricing page. Need more volume than the largest plan? Email [email protected].

* Overage is optional and stays off until you turn it on in Billing. It is available on paid plans billed by card through Stripe, and not during a trial. Usage is counted in monthly periods that start on your billing day, yearly plans included. Requests past the included limit are charged at the plan's rate for each started block of 1,000, up to the overage cap, on one invoice after the period ends. Amounts under $0.50 carry over to the next invoice. If you change plans during a period, the limit and overage rate of the plan you are on when the period ends apply to the whole period.

The Free plan is also capped at 20 requests per day (New York time). Requests count by endpoint weight, and only responses with HTTP status 200 count.

Commercial use is included only on the plans that list it. If you are not sure whether your project counts as commercial use, email [email protected] before you launch.
