Product search

AliExpress API

Search AliExpress products by keyword, then open one product by its id for prices, variants, specifications, shipping, and store details. The seller's full description and the customer reviews each have their own call.

Capabilities

What you can do with the AliExpress API

Products are identified by the AliExpress product id, the number in a URL such as aliexpress.com/item/3256807406540115.html. Detail and reviews take it as productId; the description call takes a token that detail returns.

Product search

Search by keyword and narrow the results by category, price range, ship-from country, free shipping, or 4 stars and up, sorted by best match, price, or most orders. Each result has the product id, title, prices, rating, units sold, images, and URL, and meta.has_more tells you whether another page exists. See examples

Collections

Collections return AliExpress's index of search terms for one channel (popular, wholesale, promotion, cheap, or reviews), grouped by category, with each term's AliExpress URL. A term from this list works as the keyword for product search. See examples

Product detail

Detail returns the title, sale and original price, currency, stock, rating, review count, units sold, images, specifications, variants, shipping origin, fee, and delivery window, and the store. It also returns the description_token used by the next call. See examples

Seller description

Pass the description_token from product detail to get the seller's full description as a list of content modules, each with a type, its content, and a display style. See examples

Customer reviews

Reviews come back a page at a time with the product's rating summary. Each review has the buyer's name and country, a rating from 1 to 5, the text and date, the variant bought, photos, and vote counts, and you can limit a page to reviews that include photos. See examples

Shortened examples

Sample responses

Each sample shows a few fields from one response, without the meta block that a live call also returns. The review summary and the single review both come from the reviews call.

How a call usually goes

Search, or a term from collections, gives you product ids. Pass one to product detail, then send the description_token from that response to the description call. Reviews take the product id directly, so a product page can request them at the same time as detail.

Documentation

The AliExpress docs cover the search filters and sort values, the collection channels, the locale codes for detail and reviews, and how the description token passes from detail to description, with a sample response for each of the five endpoints.

Code samples

Every endpoint in the documentation includes a sample request in Shell, JavaScript, PHP, and Python.

Why SteadyAPI

Built for product grids and product pages

Search fills a grid, and the heavier reads run only for the product a user opens.

A grid, then a product

Search results carry enough to draw a product grid: the title, price, rating, units sold, and an image. Detail, the description, and reviews run only when someone opens a product.

Start from a product URL

If you already have an AliExpress item link, the number in it is the product id. You can skip search and call detail or reviews with that number.

Shipping on the product

Detail includes where the item ships from, where it ships to, the fee, and the delivery window, so a product page can show delivery terms without a second request.

Read-only catalog data

The API returns search, product, and review data. It does not place orders or manage carts. Every AliExpress endpoint has a weight of 2 against your monthly plan.

Pricing

One plan covers every API

Your plan's monthly requests work on this API and every other SteadyAPI API. Plan details, overage rates, and the Free plan's daily cap are on the pricing page. Need more volume than the largest plan? Email [email protected].

* Overage is optional and stays off until you turn it on in Billing. It is available on paid plans billed by card through Stripe, and not during a trial. Usage is counted in monthly periods that start on your billing day, yearly plans included. Requests past the included limit are charged at the plan's rate for each started block of 1,000, up to the overage cap, on one invoice after the period ends. Amounts under $0.50 carry over to the next invoice. If you change plans during a period, the limit and overage rate of the plan you are on when the period ends apply to the whole period.

The Free plan is also capped at 20 requests per day (New York time). Requests count by endpoint weight, and only responses with HTTP status 200 count.

Commercial use is included only on the plans that list it. If you are not sure whether your project counts as commercial use, email [email protected] before you launch.
