Plans and pricing

Your plan's monthly requests work across the SteadyAPI APIs. Plans differ in request volume and in features such as options data and commercial use. Yearly prices are shown as a monthly amount and charged once a year. Need more volume than the largest plan? Email [email protected].

* Overage is optional and stays off until you turn it on in Billing. It is available on paid plans billed by card through Stripe, and not during a trial. Usage is counted in monthly periods that start on your billing day, yearly plans included. Requests past the included limit are charged at the plan's rate for each started block of 1,000, up to the overage cap, on one invoice after the period ends. Amounts under $0.50 carry over to the next invoice. If you change plans during a period, the limit and overage rate of the plan you are on when the period ends apply to the whole period.

The Free plan is also capped at 20 requests per day (New York time). Requests count by endpoint weight, and only responses with HTTP status 200 count.

Commercial use is included only on the plans that list it. If you are not sure whether your project counts as commercial use, email [email protected] before you launch.

Billing questions

How charges, limits, plan changes, and cancellations work. For anything else, email [email protected].

You pay for the first period at checkout. Monthly plans then renew every month and yearly plans every year, on the same date, until you cancel. If you turn on overage, extra requests are invoiced separately after each monthly usage period ends.
Requests beyond your plan's monthly allowance are refused with HTTP 403 until your allowance resets, unless overage is turned on. On the Free plan, requests are also refused after 15 in one day (New York time). We email you when your usage passes 80% and 100% of your allowance.
Your account goes back to your plan's included allowance, with no overage, until the payment goes through.
Yes. For card subscriptions, upgrades and switches between monthly and yearly billing are charged right away, prorated for the rest of the period. Downgrades take effect right away, and the difference is credited to your next invoice. Moving to the Free plan is scheduled for the end of the current period. You see the amount before you confirm. When a usage period closes, the limits of the plan you are on at that time apply to the whole period. If you pay another way, contact support to change plans.
Fees already paid are non-refundable, as stated in the Terms and Conditions. Cancelling now ends access without a refund for the rest of the period.
If you need more requests than the largest plan includes, email [email protected] with the APIs you use and the monthly volume you expect.
The yearly price is charged once, at the start of the year. The pricing table shows it as a monthly amount so you can compare it with monthly billing. Your request allowance still resets every month, and unused requests do not carry over.
Overage is optional. You can turn it on for a paid plan paid by card through Stripe, but not during a trial. With overage on, requests continue after your allowance runs out, up to your plan's overage cap. Extra requests are billed in blocks of 1,000 at your plan's overage rate, and a started block counts as a full block. For example, with a 10,000-request allowance and a rate of $1.50 per 1,000, using 12,300 requests in a period means 2,300 extra requests, billed as 3 blocks: $4.50. Each period is invoiced once after it ends, and amounts under $0.50 carry over to the next period.
A request counts by its endpoint's weight when the response has HTTP status 200. Responses with a 4xx or 5xx status do not count. Some endpoints answer with HTTP 200 and "success": false when the source has no result, and those responses do count.
Open Billing and cancel your subscription. If you cancel at the end of the period, you keep access until the period ends and are not charged again. Card subscriptions cancelled this way can be resumed before the period ends. If you cancel now, access ends right away.
Card payments are processed by Stripe, and PayPal is also accepted for paid plans. SteadyAPI does not store your payment details.
